TBH I'd like to see LA play Vegas in the first round. |

Agreed, Vegas will be fine. San Jose scares me with the addition of Kane.
I think St Louis has the most difficult schedule. Nice write up Adam! |

I'd rather play Vegas than the Sharks too. You guys can have 3rd in the Pacific. |

Id rather the Kings not make the playoffs simply for a better 1st round pick. We really need to get some talent. But also dont want Kopitars season to go unnoticed. |

In this case, Kings fans don’t want this to go to the second tie break because the 7-2 thrashing the Kings took from the Blues earlier this month was also the deciding game of the season series. - Adam Kirshenblatt
That's actually not true. The Kings are tied with the Blues in the season series tie break as well. If you read the tie break rule from NHL.com:
The greater number of points earned in games between the tied clubs. If two clubs are tied, and have not played an equal number of home games against each other, points earned in the first game played in the city that had the extra game shall not be included. If more than two clubs are tied, the higher percentage of available points earned in games among those clubs, and not including any "odd" games, shall be used to determine the standing. - NHL.com
Since two games were played in St. Louis this season, the points from the first game played there would be discarded. The Kings lost that game in regulation 4-2 on 10/30. That means both teams got 2 points in the season series, and are therefore tied in the 3rd tiebreak.
If they are tied in points and ROW at the end of the season, it would fall to the 4th tiebreaker, which is goal differential. The Kings have a healthy lead over St. Louis in that department with a +34 compared to the Blues' +13.
If it does indeed fall to the 4th tie breaker, there's going to be a lot of pissed off Blues fans out there. |

I think the kids would learn a lot in the playoffs so I hope they do make it although I do understand what you’re saying! |

That playoff experience is invaluable, so I'd rather the kids get to taste a series or four than none at all. I'd prefer Vegas, but would welcome a nasty SJ series too. Whichever of the two cali teams that make it out of that series will be hardened hamburger meat for round 2. At least Muzzin will be pretty fresh. |

I say either 2 things would have happened. One, if he was there the whole year, and he played like he has been and Kopi the same, battling for the top 2 spots in the division. OR 2, him not missing anytime would take ice time away from Kopi and he wouldn't be having the year he has been having and they would be exactly where they are now. But as a Kings fan, I am leaning towards the first one. |

I think that they'd be in about the same spot, though maybe with 3 or 4 more points and a firmer hold on 3rd in the Pacific. Remember, this is about where we expected them to be before the season started and before Carter was injured. I suspect that, if he hadn't gotten injured, Kopitar wouldn't have put the team on his back quite as much, and we should keep in mind that Carter being on fire right now is probably in part due to being so well rested (so, while a healthy Carter might've contributed to a few more standings points earlier in the year, they might've lost a few in the last dozen games that they got because he was fresh). A healthy Carter definitely would've been a net positive, but I'm not sure that it would've completely overcome the gap between 2nd and 3rd in the Pacific to pass the Sharks. |

Disagree I believe they would have about 3-5 more wins. One being the blown lead by the hawks. |
